The Opportunity
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic General Hand Gardener to join our Grounds Team on a permanent full-time basis.

This is an opportunity to work across a large, picturesque campus, helping to maintain the gardens, sporting fields and outdoor spaces that contribute to the exceptional experience enjoyed by our students, staff and visitors every day.

Working alongside an experienced and collaborative team, you will take pride in maintaining high standards across the School's grounds while contributing to the ongoing development and presentation of our campus.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain the School's gardens, lawns, sporting fields and landscaped areas to a high standard
Undertake lawn and turf management activities, including mowing, edging, fertilising, irrigation monitoring, aeration and seasonal turf care
Prepare, set out and line mark sporting fields and other outdoor sporting areas as required
Assist with planting, pruning, mulching, watering and general horticultural duties
Ensure outdoor areas are clean, safe and well presented
Operate and maintain gardening equipment and machinery safely
Participate in scheduled grounds maintenance programs
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
Maintain gardens and hedges at School-owned residential properties
Assist with the set-up and pack-down of School events as required
Work in accordance with WHS policies and safe work practices

About You
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
Certificate III in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens, Sports Turf Management or a related qualification, or equivalent industry experience
Experience in gardening, horticulture, grounds maintenance or turf management
Sound knowledge of lawn and turf management practices, including irrigation, fertilising, weed and pest control, and seasonal turf care
Experience preparing and line marking sporting fields
Ability to safely operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment and machinery
A strong work ethic and pride in maintaining high-quality outdoor spaces
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Reliability, punctuality and a positive attitude
A commitment to safe work practices
